It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Ricky “Rick” Dean Britton, a cherished father, papaw, brother, uncle and friend. Rick departed this world on May 16th 2026 after a courageous battle in hospice, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love and resilience. Born on December 3rd, 1964 in Mansfield, Ohio, Rick spent his life enriching the lives of those around him with his humor and warmth.

Rick was preceded in death by his father Hank Britton, mother Louise Traxler, sister Juanita Kiser and sister Kay Campbell.

He is survived by his loving children Justin (Brittany) Britton, and Blair Britton who were the pride and joy of his life. He leaves behind his adored granddaughter Elliana and Addilynn Britton and fur granddaughter Mazie, whom he loved to spoil.

Rick’s family extends to his devoted sister Deb (Ed) Secrist, brother Henry Britton, brothers-in-law Danny Campbell, and Lloyd Kiser, along with his special nieces Angela, Amanda, Kristina and Jamie, great nieces Kaitlynn and Audriana, nephews Issac, Nathaniel and Josh, along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. They will forever cherish the memories of Rick’s quick wit and playful spirit.

A graduate of Lexington High School, Rick was known for his good looks, hard work and dedication, having spent many years working at Crane Plumbing and helping out at A&E Motors in Lexington. Outside of work, Rick’s passions lay in the serenity of nature and the joy of family. An avid fisherman, he found solace in the waters of Lake Erie fishing with his son Justin or nephew Issac. His adventurous spirit also took him to riverboats and casinos, where he enjoyed gambling with his mom, sisters, and niece. His sweet tooth took him on adventures with his daughter Blair to ice cream shops.

Rick’s humor was his hallmark, a gift that he shared with everyone around him. Even in the ICU, he maintained his sharp wit, joking with his niece Amanda about calling “ghostbusters”. He had a notorious sweet tooth for Little Debbie snacks, a testament to his love for life’s simple pleasures.

In this time of mourning Justin and Blair extend their heartfelt gratitude to their aunt Deb for her unwavering care and support during their father’s final days. Her dedication and love provided comfort and peace to Rick, and for that they are eternally grateful.
