MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Richland County Public Library will officially host a ribbon cutting and grand opening on May 5 at 11 a.m. of the new Creation Lab and newly constructed Learning Lab at the Main Library, 43 W. Third St.

The new Creation Lab is a do-it-yourself creative learning center offering innovative
tools and technology for customer use, including 3D printers, 3D pens, a Cricut®
machine, an embroidery machine, and more. While the Creation Lab is a DIY space,
knowledgeable staff will help bring design ideas to life and train customers to work
independently on future projects.

The new Learning Lab features natural lighting, ample space, updated technology, and
will continue to serve as the hub for the Library’s technology classes.

Director Chris May.

“ The completion of this project aligns with our strategic plan to update library spaces by exploring ways to repurpose existing library spaces. It also supports our mission to provide innovative, relevant experiences for all ages to experience new technology as they imagine and create.”

Both spaces are located at the Main Library, 43 W. Third St.

The Learning Lab will be open during regular library hours Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 8 PM; Friday and Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM.; and Sunday from 1 to 5 PM.
