Elizabeth M. Shirk, age 82 years, 3 months, and 16 days, of Shiloh, OH, peacefully entered into rest on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at the home of her daughter, Martha.
Elizabeth was born on January 5, 1944 in Lancaster County, PA to the late Eli O. and Hettie Ann (Martin) Burkholder. On November 29, 1966 Elizabeth married Edwin W. Shirk who preceded her in death on February 11, 2016. She was a member of the Springmill Old Order Mennonite Church.
Surviving are her 7 children: Earl Shirk of Shiloh, Ella (Emory) Zimmerman of Shiloh, Martha (Alvin) Zimmerman of Mansfield, Marian (Aaron) Hoover of Charles City, IA, Elizabeth (Leon) Zimmerman of Plymouth, Harlan (Gayle) Shirk of Dayton, VA, and Daniel (Martha) Shirk of Shelby; 50 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; siblings: Edna (the late, Alvin) Ringler, Daniel (the late, Alice) Burkholder, the late, John (Anna) Burkholder, Alvin (Charlotte) Burkholder, Aaron (Alta) Burkholder, the late, Esther(Aaron) Hurst, Paul Burkholder, and Noah (Martha) Burkholder.
In addition to her husband and parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her granddaughter: Lynette Shirk; and great grandsons: Alson Drew Zimmerman and Logan Drew Martin.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 1-5 pm at home of her daughter, Elizabeth, 8350 Willett Road, Plymouth, OH 44865. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 9:30 am at Springmill Old Order Mennonite Church, 3555 Dininger Road, Plymouth, OH 44865 with Bishop Ammon Burkholder officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
