Joan Carol (Vance) Caudle passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving and heartbroken family on April 15, 2026, at Roper St Francis Hospital in Charleston, SC. She will truly be missed by us all. Joan loved her lord and savior Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul. Her faith was unwavering and unshakable.

Joan was born August 24, 1948, in Grundy, Virginia to Robert and Geraldine Vance, who preceded her in death.

A 1966 Graduate of Galion High School, she went on to earn her cosmetology license in 1972, after graduating from the State Beauty Academy in Marion, Ohio. She was a cosmetologist and owner of New Image Hair Design in Galion, OH for 28 years. In 2000, she graduated from Hondros College, Westerville, OH and became a real estate agent for 24 years in Mansfield, Ohio.

Joan enjoyed traveling, shopping, exploring the Charleston area, and trying new restaurants. She also loved cooking for her family, watching the Cleveland Indians, bowling, as well as quiet evenings on the sun porch with her cat Lucy, while reading or bird watching. Most of all, she loved her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Fritz Caudle of Mount Pleasant, SC.; sons: Tim (Lisa) Scott of Mount Pleasant, SC, Chad (Joyce) Scott of Mansfield, OH; step-children: Kristi (Danny) Tjo of Sandy Springs, GA, Lisa (Cam) Tullos of Honolulu, HI, Jeff Caudle of Columbus, OH; siblings: Barb (Ed) Eckert of New Kensington, PA, Ron (Shelley) Vance of Galion, OH; grandchildren: Madison (Alex) Scott-Diz of Mexico City, Mexico, Elisabeth Blume of Mount Pleasant, SC, Amelia Blume of Mount Pleasant, SC, Kailey Tjo of Sandy Springs, GA, Mackensie Tjo of Sandy Springs, GA, Lauren Tullos of Honolulu, HI, Allie Tullos of Honolulu, HI; great-grandchild; Adrian Diz of Mexico City, Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and many great friends.

Friends may call on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Gompf Funeral Service, Galion Chapel, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. The funeral service will begin immediately with Pastor Mike Gillen officiating; burial will follow at Iberia Cemetery.
