“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:21 Louise Marie Leedy, 88, a lifelong resident of Bellville, passed peacefully into the presence of her loving Savior on January 17, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family. A woman of steadfast faith, Louise lived a life marked by prayer, service, and unconditional love for her family and for Christ.
Born February 28, 1937, in Butler, Ohio, Louise was the daughter of Orla Paul and Mary Irene (Stevens) Stull. She graduated from Bellville High School, where she first knew Clarence “Squirt” Leedy as a schoolmate riding the same bus. Though their paths crossed early, it was years later—while Clarence was serving in the United States Army and stationed at Fort Knox—that Louise’s interest grew. After a short visit, their courtship began, leading to their marriage on November 22, 1959, at Palmyra Church of Christ.
In Louise’s presence you were welcome and greeted with a warm gentle smile. Through every season of work and motherhood, Louise remained faithful, trusting God to supply strength and wisdom. “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15) was not only a verse she believed, but a life she lived.
Louise worked at Therm-O-Disc, Hillcrest Nursing Home, and faithfully served as a personal caregiver to Ruth Bemis. In every role, she exemplified the heart of a servant. “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). Her care for others reflected Christ’s compassion and love.
She was a devoted member of the former Ankenytown Grace Brethren Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Awana Cubbies leader, Vacation Bible School teacher, and active participant in women’s Bible study. Even when physical limitations prevented her from attending church, Louise remained a pillar of spiritual strength, worshiping through prayer and daily Bible study at home.
Louise embraced the ministry of visitation, sharing this gift with her children as they regularly visited the elderly and shut-ins together on Sundays. Through seasons of illness and moments of grief, her faith never wavered. “I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him” (2 Timothy 1:12).
Family heritage was deeply important to Louise, and she faithfully attended the Stull and Leedy family reunions each year. She was a master seamstress, meticulously creating clothing for herself and her children. Alongside Clarence, she tended their rural farm, finding joy in gardening, cultivating flowers, vegetables, and plants, and preserving the harvest through canning. Her love of God’s creation was evident in her care of the land, bird watching, and feeding squirrels. An amazing cook, she made the best flakey pie crusts few could duplicate her recipe.
Her family was always on her heart—constantly in her prayers. She delighted in her children and grandchildren and cherished family day trips that created lasting memories.
Louise is survived by her children and their spouses: Craig (Connie) Leedy, Laurie Leedy, Todd (Marcie) Leedy, Lisa (Greg) Blubaugh, and Lynelle Leedy (Joe Krempel), all of Bellville; grandchildren Belinda (Dale) Boley, Lane Leedy, Monae Leedy (fiancé Logan Richmond), Olivia, Cade, Sawyer, Landis and Larson Blubaugh; great-grandchildren Liam, Lili, and Laci Boley; brother Tom (Linda) Stull; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and personal care giver Grace Hunt.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband, Clarence “Squirt” Leedy.
The Leedy family will receive friends Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 3–7 p.m. at the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where visitation will continue Thursday from 10–11 a.m. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Gary Kochheiser officiating. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leedy Reunion Association, Gentiva Hospice, or the Bellville/Jefferson Township Rescue Squad.
