MANSFIELD — The Renaissance Performing Arts Education Department has announced it will again offer its popular Improv Underground program, a free theatre improvisation course which is part of the 2025-26 Mechanics Bank Education Series.
During the workshop, students will develop strong interpersonal skills through participation in theatre games and improvisation.
Improv Underground classes focus on building basic improv skills through group activities and are open to all students between the ages of 14 and 19. Students between the ages of 12 and 14 may be considered for participation with permission of the instructor.
Participants are guaranteed to gain self-confidence, improve communication skills, and have fun. All classes take place at the Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield from 4:00 PM-5:30 PM on Wednesdays.
The course begins on February 18, 2026 and will run through Tuesday, April 7, 2026. An “open mic” style performance, featuring class participants, will be held on Wednesday evening, April 8th, at the Renaissance Theatre’s 166 venue.
The course is led by Dauphne Maloney, well-known throughout the area for her work with youth theatre.
