MARION — Saturday was perhaps the most dominant performance in a long line of dominant performances for the Ontario boys and girls swim teams.

The boys took first place in every event and the girls won every event except one at the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference championships Saturday at the W. Keith Davis Natatorium.

The boys finished with 200 points. Marion Harding (69) was second and River Valley (68) was third.

On the girls side, Ontario won with 198 points. Clear Fork and River Valley tied for second with 78 points.

“I think it was pretty much what we expected,” said Deb Henry, who shares coaching responsibilities with Brooke Trumpower. “Most of our kids had really good swims.”

Ontario broke seven meet records Saturday.

“And those were all (previously) Ontario records,” Henry said.

Carson Smith, Grantham Trumpower and Colten Montgomery each won two individual events.

Smith took gold in the 200 yard individual medley (2:02.57) and the 100 breaststroke (1:00.72). Trumpower won the 50 freestyle (21.65) and 100 free (47.35). Montgomery won the 100 butterfly (53.88) and the 100 backstroke (53.68).
