MANSFIELD — The Renaissance Performing Arts Association will present the Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre (RYOT) Workshop Showcase on Friday, Feb. 6 and Saturday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in Theatre 166, as part of the Mechanics Bank Education Series.
This program is under the direction of Lori Turner.
Tickets for the RYOT Workshop Showcase are Pay What You Can and are available at the Renaissance Box Office, by phone, or online at rentickets.org.
The RYOT Workshop Showcase celebrates months of hard work and creativity from students in grades 2 to 12 who have participated in the winter workshop series.
Throughout January, students met in small groups with professional artists and mentors to refine their acting and vocal performance skills.
The final performances highlight a selection of scenes and songs from beloved musicals and plays, showcasing the talent, teamwork, and growth of each young performer — including scenes from HMS Pinafore, The Mystery Of Edwin Drood, 1776, The Court Jester, Peter Pan, Babes In Toyland, and Treasure Island.
“This program allows each student to shine while learning the importance of collaboration and expression,” said Turner, RYOT Director. “The showcase is a joyful culmination of their dedication and love for the performing arts.”
This year’s participating students include Breah Boyd, Estel Bramlage, Olive Evans, Sophia Gallatin, Eliana King, Kennadi Knipp, Toby Lux, Logan Maynor, Saige Painley, Jace Painley, Autumn Rivers, Joel Rivers, Logan Rush-Kirsop, Jackson Horn, Marilena Kruer, Briner McCready, Olivia Brumagin, Lillian Brumagin, Piper Donahue, Maddie Rice, Caroline Secrest, Graycen Stevens, Alex Trolian, Halle Williams, and Audrey King.
Offered in two age groups — 2nd to 6th grade and 7th to 12th grade — the RYOT Workshop encourages personal growth, confidence, and artistic exploration in a fun, supportive environment.
