Glen Koons, age 92, of Galion passed away peacefully at home Sunday January 11, 2026.

Born July 18, 1933 in Marion, he was the son of the late Clarence and Velma (Korner) Koons.

He was a graduate of Marion Harding High School. He took his first job at Danner Buick in Marion and advanced to become the service manager. In the late 1960’s he started working at North Electric in Galion and stayed there through the various companies including ITT and PECO until retirement. After retirement he started his own mechanic shop as Glen’s Auto Repair. He also ran a lawn care and snowplowing business. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing and bowling on the North Electric leagues. He was a motocross rider and loved riding motorcycles. He and his brother Gene enjoyed many trips to watch flat track racing together. Glen was a lifetime member of the Galion Moose and the VFW.

Glen is survived by his daughter Deborah DeWolfe, son Jerry Koons, stepsons Paul and Mike Clum, grandchildren: John Watson, Ken Watson, Meghan Steinhouse, Ronald Clum, Cachel Olmstead, and Chelsea Clum, sister Clara Bolander, special daughter Terri Ross and numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Pat Koons, brother Gene Koons, sister Donna Wade, daughter Diane Buckner, son Glen “Chip” Koons Jr., grandson Nathan Buckner, stepsons Jeff and Jack Clum and stepdaughter Nancy Clum.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 PM Thursday January 15, 2026 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday January 16, 2026 with Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery.
