Jeffrey Allen Oxer, 59, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at OhioHealth Shelby Hospital. Jeffrey was born on December 10, 1966, in Galion, Ohio, to parents Michelangelo Oxer and Arlene (Heller) Anderson.

Jeffrey was a graduate of Galion High School, Class of 1985. Following graduation, he honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. During his service, he was deployed to Okinawa, Japan, and had the opportunity to travel throughout South Korea and the Philippines. A dedicated and accomplished Marine, Jeffrey won numerous Physical Fitness Test (PFT) races and played football for the Marines. After completing his military service, he continued his strong work ethic in civilian life, dedicating ten years of service to Swan Rubber.

He will be remembered for his vibrant personality and the many passions that brought joy to his life and those around him. He had a deep love for music and cooking, often sharing both with family and friends. An accomplished athlete, he embraced physical challenges throughout his life, including running and proudly completing the Los Angeles Marathon. Known for his great sense of humor, Jeffrey had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease. He found his greatest joy in coaching his children, cheering them on both on and off the field. A devoted Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he never missed an opportunity to support his teams. Above all, he cherished time spent fishing and camping with his kids, creating lasting memories through his love of the outdoors and family. His warmth, energy, and genuine spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Spenser (Rebecca) Oxer of Omaha, Nebraska, and Bethany (Kevin) Backus of Columbus; his grandchildren, Cayden Oxer and Lydia Oxer; his siblings, Steven (Sandy) Oxer of Temperance, Michigan, Trent (Connie Robinson) Oxer of Bucyrus, and Amy (Michael) Caudill of Ontario; his mother, Arlene Anderson of Galion; and his girlfriend, Jesse Stokovich.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Michelangelo Oxer, and his stepfather, Emmett Anderson.

Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Gompf Funeral Service – Galion Chapel, 303 Portland Way N., Galion. A time of sharing and remembrance will immediately follow at 6:00 p.m.
