Kim Charles Shepherd Obituary
Kim Charles Shepherd, 77, of Delaware passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, December 31, 2025 at Ohio Living Sarah Moore Home.
He was born April 21, 1948 in Shelby, Ohio to the late Dick and Jean (Beech) Shepherd and graduated from Shelby High School in 1966. He then furthered his education by graduating from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in English education. He also was honored to play the drums for TBDBITL.
Kim proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army National Guard for 6 years. A dedicated and loved high school teacher and tennis coach for Hilliard Davidson High School for 37 years, he was honored to be inducted into the Ohio Tennis Coaches Hall of Fame in 2000. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Delaware and the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association. An avid reader, he also enjoyed exercising, jogging, spending time with his family, spending time at the beach, bird watching and spending time outdoors. He formed a band, The Shepherd’s Heard, in his youth and enjoyed listening to music for his entire lifetime. Kim also had a lifelong love of sports which included his beloved teams The Cleveland Browns, The Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed spending vacations and family time at the beach, especially Lake Erie, Charleston, Hilton Head, and Marblehead.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 35 years, Bonnie Lou (Mischka); son, Matt (Chrissy) Shepherd; daughter, Stacey (Robert) Beckerley; grandchildren, Jack, Brady, Drew, Alex, Brevin, Ella, and Shawn; brother, Lee Shepherd; sister, Mary Jo Shepherd; nephew, Justin Powell.
In addition to his parents, Kim was also preceded in death by his stepdaughter Amy Price.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William Street, Delaware, where services celebrating Kim’s life will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 12:00 (noon) with Pastor Beth Gedert officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
