Suzanne “Suzi” Longsworth, age 64, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully in her home on December 16, 2025. A woman of deep faith and boundless creativity, Suzi leaves behind a legacy of warmth, service, and a unique eye for beauty.
A 1979 graduate of Galion High School, Suzi was a vibrant part of her school community, participating in the swim and volleyball teams, Glee Club, and the band. Her love for music stayed with her throughout her life, whether she was listening to her favorite K-LOVE stations or playing the dulcimer.
Suzi’s professional life was marked by her dedication to others and her keen attention to detail. She spent years as a training manager and head printer at a photography printing shop, a role that allowed her to blend her technical skills with her artistic eye. Later, she found immense fulfillment working as a teacher’s aide for Cambridge City Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students. Many in the community will also remember her friendly face from her time as a hostess and waitress at the Varsity Grill and the Elks, where she also generously volunteered her time.
Those who knew Suzi knew she couldn’t keep her hands still. She was an avid landscaper and a gifted “upcycler,” transforming yard art and indoor spaces through remodeling and painting. She had a passion for thrifting and styling, always finding the hidden potential in things others might overlook. When she wasn’t working on a project or taking one of her signature power walks, she was often found lost in a good book or tending to her two faithful cat companions, Lily and Baby.
Above all, Suzi’s greatest pride was her family. She often remarked that her most significant accomplishments were being a mother and a grandmother.
Suzi is survived by her daughter, Carla Longsworth (Cody Dent); her cherished grandson, Parker Dent; and her loving sister, Wendy Rehm. She is also survived by many beloved Rehm aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as a wide circle of close friends who became like family over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Judith Ebel Rehm, Robert “Bob” Kautz, and Richard N. Rehm; her brother, Richard L. Rehm; multiple Aunts and Uncles on the Rehm side and her grandparents, Joseph and Ruth Ebel and Lester and Mary Rehm.
