Robert “Bob” Allen Holbrook, 77, of Galion, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 6, 2025. He had been in failing health for the past five years. He was born on May 21, 1948, in Galion, to the late Conrad and Blanche (Salyer) Holbrook.

Bob graduated from Centerburg High School in 1966 and continued his education at United Electronics Institute in Akron, Ohio, graduating in 1968 with an electronic technician degree in communications. He utilized his electronics skills at North Electric, Bill’s TV and Appliance, and PECO II.

He met his wife when they were in the first grade at Centerburg Elementary School. Neither could remember who made the first move, but it was a friendship that was to last a lifetime. They were married at the Centerburg United Methodist Church on January 19, 1969, and they moved to Galion to remain there their entire married life.

Bob’s hobbies included cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes, enjoying NASCAR races, and ordering the latest computer bargains from Amazon. His favorite days of the year were birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and Amazon’s Prime Days. He was delighted when his grandchildren visited and he loved to hear their latest interests and activities.

Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha (Hollis) Holbrook; his son Jeffrey; his adorable grandchildren, Samantha and Jackson; his sister, Jane (John) Patton; and sister-in-law, Becky Hollis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by is parents-in-law, Clark and Helen (Young) Hollis, and brother-in-law, C. David Hollis.

The family will observe a private family burial at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
