Jean Ann Wilson, formerly of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away following a brief illness on November 18, 2025 in Anderson, South Carolina. She was 83.

She was born on November 25, 1941 in Mansfield, to the late Edward and Edith (Burkey) Vitcusky. On June 25, 1973, Jean married the love of her life, Elmer Davis Wilson, and the couple shared 32 wonderful years of marriage together until his passing in 2005. They are now reunited together in Heaven once again.

Jean grew up in Mansfield and later made her home in Lexington before settling in Anderson, South Carolina, in 1982—a place she lovingly embraced for the rest of her life. She spent many dedicated years working as an administrative assistant at the Teamsters Union Local #40 hall. Outside of work, Jean poured her heart into tracing her family’s ancestry. She spent countless hours carefully studying old documents, stories, and records, joyfully preserving her family’s history for generations to come.

She is survived by her sons Michael Wilson, Steven Wilson, and Joseph Wilson, sister Louise Hileman, nieces and nephews Brian Vitcusky, Amie Vitcusky, and Christopher Vitcusky, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Jean is preceded in death by her parents and younger brother Richard Vitcusky.

The Wilson family will receive guests on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from noon until 1:30 pm at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel. Burial to follow immediately after in Oak Grove Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Jean’s honor.
