MANSFIELD — The Ohio Art Education Association is proud to announce the winners of the 2025 North Central Region and State Winner of “Distinguished Citizen for Arts Education.”
Luke Beekman, of Mankind Murals, was nominated and awarded the state winner of this prestigious award.
The OAEA will celebrate him and other award winners at our annual awards banquet on Nov. 14. This event is part of OAEA’s annual state conference held at 350 N High St, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
Congratulations to Luke Beekman on his shining examples of high-quality arts education in Ohio.
The Ohio Art Education Association (OAEA) is the leading professional membership organization exclusively for educators in Ohio.
Members include elementary, middle, and high school arts educators; college and university professors; researchers and scholars; teaching artists; administrators and supervisors; and art museum educators. OAEA’s mission is to build a community for visual arts educators by promoting professional growth and leadership.
Six winners were voted on by members of the organization as finalists creating one State Winner. These individuals are outside of the fields of education and visual art who have contributed to Art Education in some special way.
These individuals, through some powerfully engaging way, were nominated by OAEA members because of their tremendous impact on arts education.
