MANSFIELD – The Kaleidoscope Speaker Series continues this fall with a thought-provoking evening featuring acclaimed investigative journalist Mya Frazier, on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Theatre.
Based in the Midwest, Frazier’s work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Bloomberg Businessweek, The New Yorker, and Harper’s. Her reporting explores how power operates within the U.S. financial system and the lasting impact it has on low-income households. Currently, she is authoring a forthcoming book for Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group examining the role of the credit reporting industry in driving economic inequality in America.
In her Kaleidoscope talk, Frazier will lead an engaging discussion on economic mobility in America, offering an investigative journalist’s lens on the structural barriers many families face in their pursuit of financial stability. Drawing from real-life stories and in-depth reporting, she will challenge assumptions, highlight systemic inequities, and explore what a more equitable economic future could look like.
Audience members are invited to stay after the event for a networking reception in the Renaissance Lobby, where the conversation will continue in community.

A follow-up engagement session, “Economic Mobility,” will take place on Thursday, November 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Ontario Branch of the Public Library. All are welcome to attend and join a deeper discussion sparked by Frazier’s talk.
This event is part of the 2025 Kaleidoscope Series, a collaborative effort by the Richland County Foundation, Richland Source, the Renaissance Performing Arts Association, and the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library. The series invites the public to explore the complex issues facing Richland County through fresh perspectives—like a kaleidoscope—encouraging civic engagement, empathy, and forward momentum.
Tickets are pay-what-you-can, with a suggested price of $25, ensuring accessibility for all.

About the Kaleidoscope Series
The Kaleidoscope Series is grounded in the belief that progress begins with open minds and shared dialogue. Each event brings a nationally recognized speaker to Mansfield to explore themes relevant to our community—challenging perspectives, sparking conversations, and inspiring collective action.
As the series’ founding partners state: “Once we are able to stop leaning to the right or to the left and instead are able to lean forward, together, it will result in a better Richland County.”
