Laura Ashley Kubasek was born on July 24, 1989, in Findlay, Ohio, to Ken and Jill Kubasek. She passed away on August 24, 2025, at the age of 36.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Vincent & Eleanor Arnold and Vernon & Virginia Kubasek; uncles Bill Arnold, Dean Sager, and Tony Roberts; aunt Melody Woessner; and cousins Kayla Lucius and Marissa Rosile.

Surviving Laura are her parents Ken & Jill Kubasek; brother & sister-in-law Dan & Melissa Kubasek, and nephew Elias Kubasek. She is also survived by many beloved aunts & uncles, numerous cousins, and friends who meant so much to her.

Laura worked a variety of jobs each of which played a meaningful role in her life, but her favorite job was working at the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library. Her love for reading made her library work especially rewarding. She began at the Madison branch and then transferred to the main branch. A highlight for her was helping with the summer reading program “Oceans of Possibilities.”

Laura also had a special fondness for cats—much to her father’s dismay! She cared for several over the years, her most recent being a 3-legged cat named Jordy. She enjoyed visiting zoos and looked forward to the hope of petting a tiger in the new world. She loved taking walks at Malabar State Park, Mohican State Park, Gorman Nature Center, and visiting Marblehead State Park. Her favorite vacation spots were Virginia Beach and Salt Fork State Park, but she also treasured trips to Florida and Myrtle Beach to visit cousins and spending time with friends. She also enjoyed many boating trips on Lake Erie with her aunt & uncle. Laura loved to swim. When she was young she spent many hours playing in her grandma & grandpa Arnold’s pond. She had a passion for cooking and loved experimenting with new recipes—shrimp tacos being one of her favorites.

Laura loved her family, friends and most importantly she loved her heavenly father Jehovah. On July 28, 2007, she dedicated her life to Him and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She deeply enjoyed attending circuit assemblies, the annual conventions in Cleveland, Ohio, and had the privilege of attending an International Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Detroit, Michigan, in 2014. She also cherished visits to the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New York. Laura was able to be a part of the Pennsylvania German Congregation for several years. This involved learning the language spoken by the local Amish communities to share the good news of the Kingdom with them in their native tongue. Her favorite scripture to use in the ministry was Revelation 21:4.

Memorial services for Laura will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. for calling hours followed by the service beginning at 4 p.m. This will be at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1780 Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield, Ohio, 44904.
