This stripped-down new play, told through Mina’s haunting perspective, delivers an intimate and terrifying experience that reimagines the world’s most famous vampire for today’s audiences.
With its gothic atmosphere, striking visuals, and a sense of creeping dread, the production promises to be a one-act thrill ride blending theatre and horror in equal measure.
“Our biggest goal with this production is to make it scary,” said writer and director Ryan Shealy. “It’s only one act, but it’s a wild ride that might feel a bit like a haunted attraction for some.
“We want audiences to be terrified of these vampires—but also to care deeply about the people fighting them. They are very real characters going through literal hell.”
Featuring an original score and sound design by Aaron James Nicolas, lighting by Nik Demers, set design by Jason Kaufman, and costumes by Linda Turske, the production highlights the artistry and intensity of live theatre while staying true to Stoker’s iconic novel — with a few unexpected twists.
