Christine “Tickie” Fernyak Eaton passed away peacefully in the early hours of August 3rd, 2025, in Naples, Florida, surrounded by love. She was 86.
Tickie was born in 1939 and raised in Mansfield, Ohio, the beloved daughter of Carlton and Christine Fernyak and brother, John Fernyak, of Lucas, Ohio. After growing up in Mansfield, Tickie’s adventurous spirit led her to live in Cincinnati, Ohio; Brussels, Belgium; and eventually, Naples, Florida—each move marking a new chapter in a life full of love, purpose, and exploration.
A devoted wife, Tickie is survived by her husband, Edwin Eaton of Naples, Florida. She was a loving mother to Christopher Eaton of Denver, Colorado, and Michael Eaton of El Pescadero, Mexico—both of whom inherited her curiosity, kindness, and resilience.
Tickie lived an extraordinary life. She traveled to over 100 countries, embracing cultures, collecting stories, and making lifelong friends along the way. She was active in her local PTA during her children’s school years, and throughout her life, she dedicated time to charitable work—especially causes close to her heart involving animal welfare.
Perhaps most remarkable of all was her strength. Tickie battled Multiple Sclerosis for over 50 years with grace, determination, and courage. Her life was a testament to perseverance in the face of adversity, and she remained a source of strength and inspiration to everyone who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Tickie’s memory are encouraged to contribute to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society via the following link:

Tickie’s decades-long fight against MS made her a warrior in the truest sense. Any donation in her name helps bring the world closer to a cure.
Tickie’s light lives on in every life she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly
remembered.
