Karen “Sue” Walden, age 70, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025.
Sue was a kind, resilient woman whose life was a reflection of her deep faith in Christ. She carried His love in her heart and shared it freely with everyone she met. Whether through her gentle words, warm smile, or quiet acts of service, Sue made those around her feel seen, valued, and loved. During her years of service with the Salvation Army, she became a source of hope and comfort to many in her community.
She was a proud grandmother to Cody, Megan, Jacob, and Zackary McGuire; Great grandmother to Kai McGuire, and a loving aunt to Kim Bryan, Allen Sigmon, Amber Bryan, and Cassie Bryan, along with numerous other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her siblings James (Jennifer) Jackson Sigmon III, Ronnie (Tasha) Sigmon, Lester (Cassie) Sigmon, Bonnie (Rob) Bostick, and Edna (Antonio) Wilson, who will all remember her with deep love and gratitude.
Sue was preceded in death by her beloved son, Dallas; her father, James Jackson Sigmon Sr., and mother, Janie Davis; her brothers, James Jackson Sigmon Jr. and Rick Sigmon; her sisters, Joyce Durst and Margaret Clover; and her niece, Lisa Sigmon. She missed each of them deeply and is now joyfully reunited with them in Heaven.
Sue found joy in simple pleasures — she was a lifelong fan of Loretta Lynn and John Wayne, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering faith will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A private memorial will be held by the family to honor her life and legacy.
