MANSFIELD — It’s officially Miss Ohio Week again in Mansfield.
It all began Sunday afternoon with the annual Miss Ohio Parade, stepping off at the intersection of Marion Avenue and Park Avenue West. It continued to the Richland Carrousel Park where contestants participated in an autograph-signing event.
There were more than 100 units in the parade.
There are 28 contestants from across the state competing in the Miss Ohio Scholarship Program at the Renaissance Theatre, 138 Park Ave. West, which will culminate Saturday night with the crowning of Miss Ohio 2025.

Rush “Doc” Stumbo was the parade’s grand marshal, launching his 40th year of involvement with the event. Stumbo began in 1985, working as a United Auto Workers Local 549 liaison at the former General Motors Stamping Plant in Ontario.
Before the parade on Sunday, Stumbo said his work for the competition began when he started bringing Miss Ohio contestants to the West Fourth Street plant for interviews.
Stumbo later worked at Graham Chevrolet, where he talked Ken Williams, general manager for 15 years, into donating a new car for Miss Ohio to drive during her year traveling across the state.
For many years, Stumbo accompanied Miss Ohio winners to events, ribbon-cuttings and luncheons.
