About the event:
Scholar Deleasa Randall-Griffiths takes on the persona of workers-rights advocate and U.S. Secretary of Labor Frances Perkins in a living history performance on Wednesday, July 16 at 8:00 p.m. at the Guy C. Myers Memorial Band Shell at Brookside Park, 209 Parkside Drive, Ashland. After the first-person characterization of Perkins, Deleasa will participate in a Q&A session, first as Frances Perkins and then as herself.
Opening Music Act at 7:00 p.m. – Steve Brown Jazz Trio
Ashland Chautauqua’s 5-day Breaking Barriers event runs from July 15-19, 2025 with daytime workshops at various locations and living history performances each evening at Myers Memorial Band Shell at Brookside Park, Ashland. All events are free and open to the public. All event locations are accessible and sensory-friendly.
