C. Dale Clifford, age 81 of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Avita Galion Hospital. He was born on January 14, 1944, in Canton to the late Cecil and Hazel (Warner) Clifford, and on November 25, 1965, he married the love of his life, Linda (Payton).
Dale worked for Mansfield Aircraft for 25 years until their closing and then for Design Metal for 22 years as a metal fabricator. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. Along with being an avid outdoorsman, he was a family man, and he’ll be fondly remembered as a tough guy with a heart of gold. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Linda Clifford; his children Tim (Carla) Clifford, Missy Clifford, and Joanna (Chris) Preuninger; his siblings Ada, Eunice, Carol, Wanda, and Sharon; his grandchildren Chelsy (Andrew), Beth (Kyle), Cydney, Halee (Carlos), Maddi, Cela (Preston), Connor, Caden, Cale, and Emma; his great-granddaughter Penelope; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Hazel and his siblings Louise, Dewey, Barb, Clarry, Larry, and Patty.
Friends and family may gather to honor Dale’s memory on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield.
