Rosemary “Rosie” Carroll, age 80 of Mansfield, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, where she was reunited with her husband Billy, her grandson Justin, and her family and friends in a forever reunion. She was born on August 9, 1944, to the late Ed and Mae Maglott in Shelby, but her home was in Mansfield for most of her life.
Rosie had an extremely close bond and relationship with her brother and 4 sisters. She married the love of her life, Billy Carroll, and they spent over 50 years together before his passing.
Rosie was everyone’s Mom and Grandma. She loved like no other, and she could scold you like no other because she did love and protect everyone. She served the Lord and has prayed over 65 years for others. She was the most unselfish woman you could ever meet.
She loved spending time in her flowerbeds, working outdoors, going to church and concerts, and vacationing, but mostly she just loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She will be so deeply missed.
Surviving her is son Bill (Shelly) Carroll of Lucas; daughters Brenda Swank, also of Lucas, and Anita (Wayne) Maffett of Mifflin; grandkids Zach (Jessi), Adam (Shannon), Beth (Kyle), Haley, Neveah, Faith, Christian, and Kevin; 10 great-grandkids she absolutely adored, Jaylin, Jordan, Ava, Drayven, Bryson, Ariah, Kole, Rilee, Aleyah, Levi, and new baby Zion; brother Ronnie (Rita) Maglott of Lexington; sisters Ladonna Addison of Lexington and Pat (Dee) Wright and Betty (Don) Williamson of Mansfield; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her very special people Mary Mauk and special nieces and nephews Sis, Karen, Jim, and Greg, with whom she shared a birthday.
Preceding her in death are parents Ed and Mae Maglott; her husband Billy Carroll; sister Bonnie Maglott; son-in-law Glenn Swank; and the one she never got over, grandson Justin Maffett, her first grandchild.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Belmont Community Church, 1119 Belmont Ave., Mansfield. Services will take place at 12:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s, a cause very close to Rosie’s heart.
