Louise Estella Gleisinger,  “Grandma Weeze” of Bellville, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, May 23, 2025 following a brief illness. She was 93.

She was born on August 14, 1931 in Ashley, Ohio to the late Nelson and Helen Eagleston.

On January 16, 1954 she married the love of her life, Valentine Daniel Gleisinger in West Salem, Ohio. After sharing 51 wonderful years of marriage and raising five cherished daughters, their earthly journey together paused with his passing in 2005. Now, their love story continues as they are joyfully reunited once more in Heaven.

Growing up, Louise embraced education as much as she could, but like many of her generation, she left school early to support her family. Yet, her dream of earning a degree never faded. Decades later, at the remarkable age of 77, Louise turned that dream into reality and proudly walked across the stage as a graduate.

Louise had a gift for creating warmth and joy through her many passions. Every Sunday, she would cook for her large family, often joking that she was “feeding the multitudes” as her table overflowed with love and laughter. Until the age of 89, she delighted in preparing meals that brought everyone together. Her green thumb was evident in her vibrant gardens, from which she lovingly canned food to share with everyone. Louise had a gift for making Christmas a magical time of year by crafting 500 popcorn balls annually, hosting meet and greets with Santa, and ensuring every grandchild, great-grandchild, and great-great-grandchild received a thoughtful gift bag. Louise’s unwavering faith was the foundation of her life. She devoted herself to sharing God’s love and leading others to Christ, often inspired by her favorite Bible verse, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Above all, she cherished her family—her five daughters and the generations that followed—and took immense pride in the faith and love for Christ that united them all.

She is survived by her loving daughters Sandra McElvain, Valerie (Lou) Kaleal, Debra (Dave) Huffman, Anita Wilson, Dianna (Rick) Davies, 12 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 33 great-great-grandchildren ~ an impressive legacy of 116 beloved family members!

In addition to her husband, Louise is preceded in death by her parents Nelson and Helen Eagleston, and brother Charles (Buster) Eagleston.

The Gleisinger family will receive guests on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel. A funeral service honoring Louise will begin immediately after. Burial to follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Pastor Micah Pelkey will officiate and son-in-law Rev. Lou Kaleal will speak.
