MARION – A Bucyrus man riding a bicycle was killed Monday afternoon after a multi-vehicle crash in Marion County, according to the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Jeffrey A. Arn, 64, of Bucyrus, was transported from the scene by Marion Township EMS to Marion General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Troopers are investigating the crash which occurred on Monday at approximately 4 p.m. on State Route 4 north of Marseilles Galion Road in Marion County.
According to the Patrol, the crash involved a 2021 Ford F150 pulling a livestock trailer, driven by Charles E. Foust, 78, of Marion. Arn was riding a Concord bicycle, while a 2024 Ford Bronco was driven by Tabitha A. Burson, 29, of Marion.
The preliminary investigation indicates Foust and Burson were traveling southbound on State Route 4. Arn was traveling southbound on the gravel berm on the west side of State Route 4.
According to the Patrol, Arn swerved to the left, struck the west edge of State Route 4, entered onto the roadway and was struck by Foust’s vehicle. Burson’s vehicle was struck by debris.
Foust did not report any injuries as a result of the crash. Burson and two juveniles in the Bronco were not injured.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by Marion Township Fire and EMS, Salt Rock Township EMS, and Kirby’s Towing
The crash remains under investigation.
