MANSFIELD — A woman was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital on Monday afternoon with multiple stab wounds, according to Mansfield police.
Police responded to an apartment at 624 Heritage Trail at 12:24 p.m. on the city’s northeast side, according to MPD Assistant Chief Michael Napier.
The stabbing was the result of a domestic dispute, authorities stated.
A 66-year-old man was taken into custody, said Napier, adding there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The victim suffered stab wounds to the front of her body and was taken by the Mansfield Fire Department to the hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, Napier said.
The suspect was also taken to the hospital briefly for symptoms related to high blood pressure, he said.
Detectives were at the scene and a search warrant for the apartment was being prepared, the assistant chief said.
Charges are pending, Napier said.
