William “Bill” H. Wells, 88, of Mansfield passed away February 17, 2025 at his home.
Bill was born April 25, 1936 in Findlay to William W. and Marguerite Leith Wells. He was a 1953 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and had a few years of college. Then Bill served in the United States Navy from 1954 – 1958. He was married to Patricia Thoma for 50 years and they had a wonderful life raising their children. Bill worked as an industrial engineer at Abbott Labs in Ashland for over 12 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church where he also taught religion classes for many years.
Survivors include his children: Brian (Lori) Wells, John Wells, Kathy (Shorty) Yates, William (Desra) Wells; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; son-in-law Bart Quick; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Patricia; and sister Marilyn Boyer.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Thursday, February 27, 2025 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 60 S. Mulberry Street. Visitation will take place from 10-11am at the church. Military honors will follow by the Richland County Joint Veteran’s Burial Detail. Burial will take place at a later date.
