LEXINGTON — The division has changed. But the competition will be as fierce as ever in the Division III Willard district boys basketball tournament.

Lexington earned the No. 1 seed in the seven-team field, which includes No. 2 Mansfield Senior, No. 4 Ashland and No. 7 Madison.

The Minutemen (17-3) will host Madison (4-16) in the sectional final Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. A win would send Lex into the district semifinal against Ashland. The Minutemen beat the Arrows, 59-58, on Friday to clinch the Ohio Cardinal Conference title.

On the bottom of the bracket, No. 2 Senior High (13-5) will host No. 6 Norwalk (7-13) Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. No. 3 Sandusky (12-6) hosts No. 5 Tiffin Columbian (9-12).

Division IV

Shelby picked up the No. 3 seed in the Findlay district. The Whippets (12-8) will host No. 6 Ottawa-Glandorf (7-11) Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. in a sectional final. No. 7 Ontario (6-14 ) will host No. 8 Clear Fork (7-13) in a sectional semifinal Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.

Division V

Galion will open the tournament on the road.

The sixth-seeded Tigers (7-13) will travel to No. 3 Genoa (15-4) for a sectional final Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

Division VI

Crestview earned the No. 2 seed behind Colonel Crawford in the Division VI Ontario district. The Cougars (15-3) will host No. 8 Bucyrus (1-19) in a sectional final Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

Mansfield Christian picked up the No. 5 seed. The Flames (10-9) will host either No. 6 Western Reserve or No. 9 New London Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

Division VII

Plymouth (10-10) earned the No. 3 seed at the Shelby District and will host No. 6 Danbury (3-16) in a sectional final Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

Fifth-seeded Crestline (8-11) will visit No. 2 Sandusky St. Mary (7-12) on Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

No. 8 Lucas (3-15) will host No. 9 St. Peter’s (5-10) in a sectional semifinal Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
