Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend. Minnie Jean Henry (nee Britton), 92, born December 26, 1932, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 16, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Throughout the course of her life, she was given 33,625 sunrises and she greeted every single one of them, declaring each the most beautiful. She marveled at every aspect of God’s creation, herself a marvel in her own right. Her storied legacy recounts being the first home with electricity or a telephone, thus the only point of contact for miles to enable the War Department to notify families of their fallen sons – each name committed to memory, every story recounted with painful ease.

A life devoted to service, she was the Sunday School teacher for all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and innumerable others spanning multiple generations. An exemplar of wisdom, she molded integrity and righteousness into whole family lineages. She is credited by many as the origin of their deeply rooted Biblical foundation.

A hymn always at the ready, she could sing and dance all day. And dance she shall in the throne room of Heaven. Eagerly received in Heaven with love, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edwin Henry; daughter, Bonnie Sue Elia; parents, Mordica Frank and Minnie L. (Risner) Britton; siblings, Linda Jane, Ogie Mae, Frank Elvis, James Arthur, Della “Thelma” Rose, David Henry, George Edward, Larry Chester, and Ruth Ann.

Sent with love, she is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (Thomas) Angelini and Debra (Michael) Conrad; son-in-law, James Elia; grandchildren, Michael (Amanda), Matthew (Carrie), Nathanael (Jose), Melissa, Chad (Jeanetta), and Alaina (Joseph); great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Katie, Caleb, Emily, Adelena, Alivia, James, and Josie; siblings, Bonnie, John, Mary, Harley, and Paul; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, at Mansfield Memorial Park.
