ONTARIO — The Warriors ruled the pool again.

The Ontario girls won their second straight Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference championship, while the boys captured their fifth consecutive MOAC title at Saturday’s conference meet at Ontario.

The girls finished with 189 points, well ahead of runner-up Shelby (137). Pleasant (71) was third.

The boys piled up 201 points, more than in any of their previous four MOAC meet victories. River Valley (94) was a distant second and Marion Harding (65) was third.

Girls

Ontario’s Mirielle Trumpower and Joie Simmering each won four gold medals Saturday. Trumpower won individual titles in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.56) and the 100 backstroke (58.51), while Simmering picked up individual crowns in the 100 freestyle (57.37) and the 100 breaststroke (1:14.54).

Trumpower and Simmering teamed with Ava Zehe and Tessa Crum to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:41.96). Trumpower joined forces with Lily Secrist, Zehe and Tatum Mottayaw to win the 400 free relay in 3:55.15. Simmering, Crum, Mottayaw and Sasha Bulakobski won the 200 medley relay in 1:57.99.

Crum won the 50 free in 25.63.

Shelby’s Emma Montgomery won both the 200 individual medley (2:27.35) and the 500 freestyle (5:20.97). Shelby’s Sydney Bachtel won the 100 butterfly (1:07.77).

Boys

Ontario won every individual event and swept all three relays in an overwhelming performance. 

Grantham Trumpower and Colten Montgomery were quadruple winners. Trumpower won individual titles in the 200 freestyle (1:46.86) and the 100 free (48:34), while Montgomery won the 100 butterfly (55.77) and the 200 individual medley (2:04.07).

Trumpower and Montgomery joined with Carson Smith and Evan Ruhe to win the 200 free relay in 1:31.56. They teamed with Logan Bernat and Owen Walter to win the 400 free in 3:21.54.

Bernat, Smith, Ruhe and Owen Walter won the 200 medley relay in 1:42.51.

Ruhe won the 50 freestyle in 22.80, while Jackson Swiatek won the 500 free in 5:08.38. Bernat won the 100 backstroke (55.21) and Smith won the 100 breaststroke (1:02.46).
