MANSFIELD — Lima Senior overcame a two-point deficit entering the fourth quarter to knock off Mansfield Senior 61-57 in a non-conference boys basketball encounter on Saturday night at Pete Henry Gym.

There were 10 lead changes and seven ties in the tight tilt.

Mansfield Senior owned a 20-16 edge at the first-quarter stop, but the Spartans moved in front 31-29 at halftime. Senior High regained the advantage 44-42 entering the final eight minutes, but couldn’t hold off the visitors.

Senior Kyevi Roane notched 19 points and eight rebounds to pace the Tygers, while teammate Andrew Brooks Jr. posted 14 points and nine rebounds. D’Vontae Johnson notched 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Tygers coughed up 12 turnovers to just six for Lima Senior.

Amari Addy collected a team-high 15 points for the Spartans. Je’Kel Cotton dominated the lane with 13 points and 18 rebounds. Willie Foster and Noah Simpson added 10 points apiece for Lima Senior.

Mansfield Senior falls to 8-2 overall, and will play at Columbus Hartley on Tuesday.

Lima Senior improves to 8-1 and hosts Ottawa-Glandorf on Saturday.
