Programs for older adults

According to research performed by the National Institute on Aging, older adults who participate in “music, theater, dance, creative writing and other participatory arts shows promise for improving quality of life and well-being, from better cognitive function, memory and self-esteem to reduced stress and increased social interaction.”

Programming at Richland Academy of the Arts, sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging, continues to support successful aging with unique arts experiences for all skill levels in a safe, nurturing and collaborative environment. These programs in dance, music and visual arts improve physical, cognitive and emotional health.
