The Warriors shot out of the gate with a 13-3 burst to begin the game, and coasted into a 20-10 first-quarter advantage.

But the Whippets dominated the second period to move in front 32-29 at halftime. Shelby maintained a 48-44 edge heading to the final eight minutes.

The hosts reeled off a 16-2 burst to begin the fourth quarter to put the game away.

The Warriors are home on Saturday when Ashland comes to town. Shelby welcomes Margaretta that same night.
