The Little Red Riding Hood Teddy Bear Concert is slated for Feb. 16 at the Renaissance Theatre's 166 stage in downtown Mansfield.

MANSFIELD — The Renaissance Theatre will present the second of its three Teddy Bear Concerts in the 2024-25 Mechanics Bank Education Series on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 2:30 p.m.

This performance features an original script by Artistic Director Michael Thomas, bringing the beloved story of Little Red Riding Hood to life through engaging audience participation, interactive storytelling, and live music by the Mansfield Symphony’s Woodwind Duet.

Teddy Bear Concerts

Teddy Bear Concerts take familiar stories and present them through interactive acting and music.

With help from members of the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, children are able to get up close and personal with symphonic instruments and participate in the storytelling.

Geared to children ages 2 through 10, each Teddy Bear concert offers an interactive element as well as a relaxed environment.

Small audience sizes, lights up, and low sound levels create safe sensory spaces for audience members with autism and other sensory-processing needs.

Held at the Renaissance’s Theatre 166 venue, these concerts are a vital part of the Ren’s educational and family programming.

They provide children with an opportunity to explore live acting, symphonic instruments, and basic musical concepts in an intimate, hands-on setting.

To ensure the most engaging experience, seats are limited, and early ticket purchases are encouraged. Attendees are welcome to bring their favorite teddy bears along for the fun!

Tickets are just $5 and are available at the Renaissance Box Office, located at 138 Park Avenue West in Mansfield, by phone at 419-522-2726, or online at www.rentickets.org.

Generous support for the Teddy Bear Concert series is provided by Nationwide Children’s, the Ohio Arts Council, and Sharon Granter, in memory of her late husband, Don.
