MANSFIELD — Braxton Daniels said 3rd Cup Tea’s first signature blend will welcome customers with a delicious, robust plum and hibiscus flavor with notes of cinnamon and licorice root.
The “Purple Lady” tea has been in the works for more than a year, when Daniels said he first started thinking about signature tea blends.
“It takes time to get the organic certification and get feedback from staff and all that,” he said.
“I noticed which teas resonate most with people, and wanted to capture those bold, fruity flavors in this blend. It’s sweet, robust, and designed to bring a sense of warmth and comfort.”
Daniels curated the leaves and herbs from an organic wholesaler in Cleveland to create the blend. 3rd Cup Tea is hosting a free, tea tasting party for the caffeine-free “Purple Lady” tea on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.
Daniels said 3rd Cup Tea will serve tastes of Purple Lady as a hot tea, in mocktails and mulled tea infusions. The event will also include snacks, tea-themed giveaways and prizes.
“I think people will love it,” Daniels said. “I’m really excited for people to show up to support what we’re doing. I think everyone hanging out and meeting new people is going to be the most fun part of it.”
The organic, caffeine-free tea also contains antioxidants and wellness benefits, which Daniels said he’ll discuss at the event.
“Not everyone drinks just straight tea, but this one is pretty adaptable,” he said. “That’s why we’ll have mocktails and things at the event and show people what else they can do with it.”
Purple Lady will be available for sale in 3rd Cup Tea after the release party. Daniels also said he hopes to create more original tea blends for the shop.
