MANSFIELD — Mansfield City Council members may be home in time Tuesday to watch most of the Cleveland Guardians in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series.

On paper, the agenda for local lawmakers is perhaps the lightest of the year.

New At-large Councilwoman Shari Robertson will attend her first meeting — just in time for a night that features only nine pieces of legislation.

Robertson was elected Thursday by the 11-member Mansfield Republican Party Central Committee to complete the unexpired term of At-large Councilwoman Stephanie Zader, who resigned from office effective at the end of September.

Council caucus is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., followed immediately by the legislative session.

(Below is a PDF showing legislation scheduled for Mansfield City Council on Tuesday.)

Here is the legislation on council’s agenda:

— vote on the acceptance of a $33,056 grant for the law director’s office from the Ohio Crime Victims’ Assistance Office. Funds will be used for the local crime victims’ assistance program.

— vote on the acceptance of a $7,999 grant from the Patrick Leahy Bulletproof Vest Partnership to be used in purchasing bulletproof vests for the Mansfield Police Department. There is a $7,999 local match required for the grant.

— vote on the $295 claim of Destiny Karsmizki of West Second Street for damages caused by her cell phone being placed on a police cruiser and then left there, breaking it in August.

— vote on the $427 claim of Jessica Faulkner of Shaffner Boulevard for damages caused by hitting a water valve lid on West Cook Road in August.

— vote on scheduled demolitions of deteriorated structures at 30 Raleigh Ave., 45 Orchard St., 89 Orchard St., 330 Newman St. and 249 Clairmont Ave.

The next schedule City Council meeting will be Wednesday, Nov. 6. Local lawmakers move their Tuesday meetings back one day when it falls on an Election Day.
