D. Gene Suver, age 84 of Lexington, Ohio passed away October 7, 2024 at Lexington Court Care Center following an extended illness. He was born March 15, 1940 in Grove City, Ohio to the late Delmar Louis & Edna Mae (Helbrecht) Suver. On July 6, 1974 he married the love of his life, Kathryn “Kasey” Suver in Gahanna, Ohio.
Gene had worked at Bob Caldwell Chrysler in Columbus for over 40 years in the parts department and as the service manager. He loved anything with a motor, from cars to motorcycles. He loved to go drag racing and was a member of the Central Ohio 4 Wheel Drive Club for many years.
Most often referred to as “Big Red” or “Big Guy”, Gene was a gentle giant. A fun person who liked to make everyone laugh at a party. He was very proud to be a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Kasey Suver of Lexington; daughter, Kerri (Darrell) Burgoon of Lithopolis, Oh; brother, Randy (Gale) Suver of Powell; sister-in-law, Coral Suver of Dublin; special friend, Rob Stilwell of Baltimore, Oh and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kelli Suver; brother, Jeff Suver and step mother, Jean Cenci.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society, 9 Chambers Rd, Mansfield, Ohio 44906. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. The family is requesting you dress casual. Gene’s favorite attire were jeans and a flannel shirt.
