PERRYSVILLE: Joanne Oswalt passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024 at home following a valiant battle with cancer. She was 85.

She was born January 6, 1939 in Akron to John E. and Carrie (Raby) Neff. She attended Loudonville High School and worked as a machine operator for 5 years at Dominion Electric and 25 years at Flxible Bus Co.

She married John L. Oswalt in 1963. Joanne was an avid reader and collected antiques. She liked to crochet, bowl, and travel.

She was a life member of Perrysville VFW. She was also a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #2178 of Ashland.

She was a member of InTouch Ministries and loved the Lord Jesus.

She is survived by her husband John Oswalt; son John M. (Angela) Oswalt, daughter-in-law Kathy Oswalt; grandchildren Abby Oswalt (Steven) Hill, Connie (Jack) Scoles, Cody and Ashley Oswalt, Devyn and Kendall Oswalt; three great-grandchildren Josie, Reese, and Bruce Scoles.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son Scott Oswalt, daughter Peggy Sue Oswalt, and sister Shirley Leasure.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 11 am in Bunkerhill Cemetery near Butler. Celebrant Christine Radojcsics will officiate. The Bellville Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the Oswalt family.
