Nora Jean Light Mantel (Nonnie)
September 12, 1954 – September 16, 2024
Nora affectionately known as Nonnie passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024.
Nora was born on September 12, 1954 in Lexington, Kentucky to George and Hazel Light. Nora enjoyed being a children’s church minister, and traveling to New Mexico. Above all else Nonnie loved being with her family. Nora was very talented and involved heavily in the church where she made memorable plays, programs and VBS.
Nora is survived by her daughter, Marsha Holliday (Bob Mahaffey); her grandchildren, Nicole (Josh) Redman, James (Juli) Holliday, Bryon Holliday and Chase Holliday (Brittany Dovenbarger): eleven grandchildren; sister Patricia (Charles) Taylor; six nieces and nephews; and her very dear friends and family friends, Glenda and Alan, and Mona, Jim and Jenny Holliday.
She was preceded in death by her father George; sister Hazel Marie; mother Hazel; and her nephew Jeremy.
The family will have a private service TBA. Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield, is handling the arrangements.
