MANSFIELD – In partnership with Mansfield City Parks Department, Mansfield/Richland County Public Library (M/RCPL) has opened two new Little Free Libraries in Mansfield.

Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that creates book exchange boxes that now number more than 150,000 worldwide.

Now, two new Little Free Libraries at Maple Lake Park, 746 Arlington Ave., and Burton Park, 1177 Sunset Blvd. will join the movement to share books, bring people together, and create communities of readers.

With these new additions, M/RCPL now hosts ten Little Free Libraries in Richland
County.

“Like the Bookmobile, Little Free Libraries are an excellent opportunity for us to expand outside of our nine locations and offer literacy resources to other community areas,” said Chris May, Library Director.

“We are excited to collaborate with the Library, creating outdoor spaces in our neighborhood city parks to promote reading,” shared Louis Andres, Public Works Director.

“It’s heartwarming to witness efforts that foster literacy and community engagement.”

Little Free Libraries enhance M/RCPL’s mission to offer engaging experiences for people of all ages and support a vibrant quality of life for the people of our community.
