MANSFIELD — Mansfield’s free, outdoor live music show returns to the Brickyard Friday night with an all-local lineup.
The July Final Friday slate includes newcomer Teagan Allen and well-known outfits Sweet Umbra and the Red Ball Jets.
“The Red Ball Jets crew does our sound all season, so in July, that’s kind of our house show,” said Jamie Thompson with Downtown Mansfield, Inc. “They’re a much-loved band. They’ve been around this area probably around 20 years.”
The headlining band boasts a high-energy repertoire of dance and party songs with a focus on ’80s covers, Thompson said. The Red Ball Jets take the stage at 8:30 p.m.
Teagan Allen, a folksy singer-songwriter, will open the show with a 5:30 p.m. set. Allen is a graduate of St. Peter’s School in Mansfield. She’ll be performing originals and covers, Thompson said.
Sweet Umbra will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. with its unique blend of originals and covers of ’70s groove tunes.
Final Friday is free to attend and open to all ages. Refreshments will be available for purchase from food trucks including The Food Tour, Bytchn Kitchen, The Looney Lemon, Panchos Tacos, Fry Guys and Deja Food. Coolers are not permitted.
Richland County Transit is providing fare-free, on-demand response rides to and from the event.
“Bring your lawn chairs, bring your friends, the weather is going to be perfect,” Thompson said.
The Final Friday Concert series is held at The Carrousel Properties Brickyard Stage and is possible due to the following generous sponsors Ohio Eye Associates, Phoenix Brewing Company, Purdy Construction, Techniplas, and Spherion MidOhio.
