SHELBY — Saturday’s Bicycle Days parade in downtown Shelby included a record number of entries.

Jake Penwell, Shelby Community Improvement Corporation president, said the parade included 82 entries as of noon Saturday.

Floats, vehicles and participants strolled along Main and Gamble streets beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon as community members lined the city’s sidewalks.

The annual community festival continues this afternoon and evening.

Live music in the Black Fork Commons Amphitheater at 7:30 p.m. will lead into Saturday night’s grand finale — a fireworks display on Skiles Lawn, which will begin around dark.

This year’s display is sponsored by ArcelorMittal and Shelby Fraternal Order of Eagles #763. The full list of 2024 Shelby Bicycle Days events and sponsors can be found on the Shelby CIC website.
