Billy F. Bays, III, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2022.
Billy was born on May 16, 1976, in Mansfield, to Billy L. and Teresa M. (Stallings) Bays. He was a 1995 Madison High School graduate. He was known in his high school days as an amazing athlete, playing track and field, football, and wrestling, amassing numerous achievements in all three. Billy was an amazing father, who loved his children and family above all else. He had a compassionate heart, often caring for those less fortunate in his area; providing food and shelter whenever possible. Billy loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and camping. He also led cub scouts as a scout master.
Billy worked hard to improve the lives of those he loved for the majority of his life. His loss has been felt deeply by all who knew him, none more profoundly than the family and loved ones surviving him.
He is survived by his parents, Billy L. and Teresa Bays of Mansfield; children, Billy Daniel Bays, IV of Mansfield, Phoenix Rayn Bays and Casey Lee Bays both of Crestline, and Wiinter; siblings, Ronald Lee Bays of Mansfield and Heatherlee (Daniel) Hull of Mt. Gilead; and many nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Billy F. and Dorothy Bays; maternal grandparents, Ron Stallings and Darlene Fenton; uncle, Johnny Bays; and nephew, Dominic Phelps.
Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Memorial services will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
