Charles Michael Gregory, 50, of Mansfield, died Sunday, May 26, 2024.
Charlie was born February 14, 1974, in Shelby, Ohio. The son of Gary and Mary Jo Gregory, he graduated from Pioneer Joint Vocational School’s Diesel Mechanics Program in 1992.
Charlie was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend; however, his addiction was a relentless battle which left us grappling with feelings of helplessness and grief. His life was marked by both joy and struggle, and we remember him not only for the light he brought into our lives but also for the darkness that addiction cast upon his path.
Charlie is survived by his mother, Mary Jo; children, Haley Gregory, Romney Gregory, Brayden Gregory, Vince Gregory; siblings, Anna (Byron) Miller, Laura (Augie) Sinn, DJ (Jami) Gregory, Colton Hench, Brandi Schoonover, Heather Wilds; and one grandson, Avery Gregory. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary, and by one child, Harley Michael Gregory.
In sharing Charlie’s story, we hope to raise awareness about addiction’s devastating effects. Let us extend compassion to those who struggle, recognizing that addiction is a complex battle—one that requires empathy, understanding, and support. Consider holding Charlie close to your heart by educating yourself about substance use disorder.
