Carolyn “Cookie” Kay Riley, 81, of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, following a long illness.

Carolyn was born December 6, 1942, in Mansfield, Ohio to Rev. Marion Albert and Francis (Malone) Woodruff, Sr. She was a member of the Mansfield Church of God and the church prayer chain and supported a lot of ministries. Carolyn would help anyone in need, was very loving and caring and especially loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading her Bible, shopping, boating, picnicking, and traveling to the Carolinas.

Carolyn is survived by five children, Deborah Dale (Phillip) Holmes, Pamela Dale Caldwell, Tracy Dale Cox, Ronald “Ollie” Dean Dale, Jr., and Michelle Dale all of Mansfield; grandchildren, Amy Brimelin, Sara Wiggins, Carrie Armstrong, Mariah Brown, Ciegi Caldwell, Dennis Caldwell, III, Charles Cole, Lisa Cole, Jeremy DeWitt, Shelbie DeWitt, Ronald Dale, III, Carol Dale, Kayla Dale, Bradley Fisher, Troy Fisher, and Tevin Fisher; two special great-granddaughters, Zariah and Teri’ah; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Sharon (Terry) Whited and Rev. Jim (Linda) Woodruff both of North Carolina, and Marcia (Rev. Carl) Woodard of Mount Harvest Church of God in Norwalk; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ronald Dale, Sr.; second husband, Kenneth W. Riley; brother, Marian Albert Woodruff, Jr.; sister, Mary Francis Woodruff Rush; and daughter, Carrie Dale.

Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Mansfield Church of God, 1425 N. Stewart Road, Mansfield with her brother, Rev. Jim Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
