Road Closings

RICHLAND COUNTY — The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Richland County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting and is subject to change.


State Route 97 culverts replacement – NEW IMPACTS – State Route 97, between Kelly Avenue and Bellville-Johnsville Road, will close Monday, May 6 for two consecutive culvert replacements. The detour route will be SR 97 east to I-71 north to SR 13 south to SR 97, and reverse. Estimated completion: Friday, May 17, 2024


State Route 309 eastbound overhead bridge repairs (Home Road overpass) – NEW IMPACTS – State Route 309 eastbound, between West 4th Street interchange and U.S. 30 interchange, will close Monday, May 6 for 10 days for bridge repairs on the Home Road overpass. The detour route for eastbound motorists is Lexington-Springmill Road to U.S. 30 east. Traffic on SR 309 westbound and traffic on Home Road will be maintained. Estimated completion: Wednesday, May 15, 2024


State Route 598 culvert replacement – NEW IMPACTS – State Route 598, between Dinninger Road and Henry Road, will close Monday, May 6 for a culvert replacement. The detour route will be SR 589 north to SR 98 north to SR 61 north to SR 598, and reverse. Estimated completion: Monday, May 20, 2024

In addition, State Route 598, between Middletown Road and Crestline Road, will close Monday, May 6 to complete two culvert replacements. The detour route will be SR 598 north to U.S. 30 west to SR 602 north to County Road 330 east to SR 598, and reverse. Estimated completion: Friday, May 17, 2024
