RICHLAND COUNTY — The Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) of the Richland County Regional Planning Commission (RCRPC) is collaborating with Richland Public Health, Richland County Transit (RCT), City Center and advocates to bring Bike to Work Day back to Richland County.

May 17 has been designated as the national Bike to Work (BTW) day, where it aims to promote health and increase safety and accessible transportation options for all users. Local organizations have partnered to celebrate this day and encourage more people to participate in biking to work.

As part of the efforts to promote bike safety, the MPO will be hosting an open meeting on bicycle safety at the Transportation Technical Advisory Meeting on May 13 at 2 p.m. in RCRPC’s conference room located at 19 North Main St.

“We encourage all individuals who plan to participate in the bike to work day on May 17 to attend this meeting to gain valuable insights and information on bike safety,” a press release stated.

“Your participation and support are crucial in making this event a success and promoting a safe and healthy mode of transportation. Together, we can create a more bike-friendly community and encourage more individuals to consider biking as a viable transportation option.”

We look forward to seeing you at the bike safety guide meeting on May 13 and celebrating National BTW Day on May 17.
