Freda H. Young passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
Freda was born November 4, 1927 in Mifflin Township to David and Lottie Tucker. Freda was a 1945 graduate of Lucas High School. On November 9, 1946, she married Harold F. Young. She retired from Stone Container Corporation in 1993 after 32 years.
She volunteered for many organizations, and was a member of Ruth Chapter of the Mansfield Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, quilting, word search, doing for others, and her outside flowers.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharilyn “Sharry” (Jeff) Obermyer; son, Randall “Randy” (Patricia) Young; three grandsons, Nathan, Michael, and Matthew Young; 3 great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; step-granddaughters, Shari Lewis and Lisa Bennett; and her sister, Mildred Blauser. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold F. Young; sons, Roger A. Young and Richard L. Young; daughter-in-law, Carol J. Young; brother, J. Robert Tucker; and her sister, Dorothy Tucker.
Family will receive guests from 4:00-6:00 pm on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. An additional hour of calling will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Mt.
