It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of a wonderful father and loving husband. Shawn “Big Daddy” McNamara, 48, of Bellville passed way on Saturday, March 16th, 2024.

He was born on June 9, 1975 in Claremont, New Hampshire to parents William Francis and Janet (Champagne) McNamara. On March 25, 1995 Shawn married the love of his life, Bobbie Jo Parlette, and they shared over 30 years together.

Shawn enjoyed trying new recipes on his smoker, riding his Razor, and going on trips with his sons and close friends. He cherished his time at home with his family, lounging in the pool together, and smoking all sorts of delicious creations. Shawn had a giant heart and was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family and close friends- he was always down for a good time!

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife Bobbie McNamara, sons Hunter (Caitlin) McNamara and Noah McNamara, grandson River McNamara all of Bellville, brothers and sisters- in-law Vic and Dana Shenberger, John (Colby Burkhart) Leedy, and Rex (Beth) Southard all of Bellville, two nieces who were very special to him Hanna (Matt) Shenberger Carpenter and their children Rowen and Avery, and Thunder Burkhart, mother-in-law Shirley Parlette, sister Roberta (Robert) Hamlin and nephew Robert Hamlin II of Howard, Ohio, niece Clairessa (Chris) Lang and great-nephews Dayton and Timothy of Pennsylvania, grandmother Charlotte Companion of Claremont, New Hampshire, aunt Dawn (Gary) Norton of Charlestown, New Hampshire, uncle Dennis (Heather) McNamara of Claremont, New Hampshire, close friends Ty and Heather Turner, Mike and Michelle Bletz, Jen and Steve Pasheilech, Melanie Robinson, and Tara Hartley, as well as many more friends, his “adopted” children Colton Turner, Kayleigh Beheler, Trinity Stevens, James Watts, Abby Liefer, Dalton Paxson, Alayna Neal, Brad Sillman, Shania Parker, and Matt Volz.

Shawn is proceeded in death by his parents William and Janet McNamara, Aunt Barbara Champange, and nephew Brandon Drake.

The McNamara family will receive guests from 3-6 pm on Monday, March 25, 2024 in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. Immediately following will be a funeral service at 6 pm. Pastor Mike Ziadeh will speak.
